Abstract

One of the current problems that Cooperative sector is facing in Mexico is mainly due the economic model that is in place. The reason is that the Mexican capitalism under the neo-liberal model excludes the cooperative movement; taking away from the national development plans and considering this as a synonym of falling back, subversion and failure.

Despite this, there is a big number of successful cooperative societies that have survived to the worst fights against the economic politics that the country is currently living. Therefore these societies are an undeniable proof that thought this system an alternative economy can be reached, with more justice and being an inclusive society that can help to overcome the crisis that we are living today.
