Legal status of the participation of members in the capital of the cooperative: types of contribution and economic rights
Abstract
The capital of the cooperatives is an instrumental factor and not a primordial purpose, but it is necessary. This capital is achieved through the third cooperative principle of «Economic participation of the members», according to which all members contribute in an equitable way and control it democratically. In this paper we will explain the legal regime of this principle, addressing important issues, such as how to contribute and the rights that entails.
