Las cooperativas como herramienta para la transición ecológica justa en la España rural: las comunidades energéticas
Abstract
Energy communities emerge as collective initiatives driven towards the production of renewable energy from the participation of citizens. Their setting up as cooperative entities makes them an ideal tool for contributing to a just transition, having a positive impact on both ecological and social aspects. These entities have potential to function as a social stimulus specifically in rural areas, through direct and indirect creation of economic activity and, as a result, of green jobs while contributing to environmental sustainability. Although the legislator seems aware of this, it is still necessary to address the barriers that collective social economy initiatives may face in a market such as the energy market.
