Cooperative cooperation: fundamentals and transformations with the migration to an onlife

Abstract

Designed to operate in person, with the advent of the Technological Society, cooperatives began to face obstacles in preserving their cooperative identity and their values and principles, especially democratic participation. Thus, incentives became necessary for members to get involved with the organization and to safeguard its logic. Considering this, we sought, through the hypothetical-deductive method, to identify what cooperative cooperation is and its foundations, in addition to examining its transformation with the advent of the Technological Society and analyzing the importance of information, commitment, and trust for its survival in this scenario. We concluded that with the acceleration of the digital transformation promoted by the COVID-19 pandemic, information, commitment, and trust have become indispensable for the cooperative model.
