About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The International Association of Cooperative Law Journal is a scientific publication that includes the research results on a monographic subject proposed by the General Assembly of the AIDC in each issue, in addition to other articles on topics related to cooperatives. It has the collaboration of an International Research Group on Cooperative Law, which comprises lecturers from universities in Argentina, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, Cuba and Spain. The journal deals with all matters of the cooperative law. According to the legal regulations of comparative law, this legal area is divided into the following main sections:

  1. Legislative of the so-called "principles of cooperativism" applications, which have an internationalist substantiation.
  2. Constituent system of cooperatives as corporate entities with legal personality.
  3. Members, understanding of their obligations and minimum rights regime.
  4. Organic development of cooperatives (Assembly, management and complementary statutory bodies).
  5. Economic specialty of cooperatives, including their own tax legislation.
  6. Processes of dissolution and liquidation of cooperatives, incorporating Government controls.

Publication Frequency

The International Association of Cooperative Law Journal is published twice a year (June and December, since 2018). The Journal (BAIDC, in Spanish) was founded in 1989 to promote the progress of legal studies related to cooperatives worldwide.

Fees

No charges for manuscript submission, processing, and publication are applicable.
