Abstract

This collaboration aims to approach the relation between cooperatives and consumers and their protection in the cooperative field. The first instance is about the historical relationship between consumers and cooperatives and their evolution up to nowadays. The second part highlights the characteristics of consumers and reflects on the limitations and possibilities of both cooperative approach to consumers for access and incorporation of such entities such socio-economic and, secondly, in the reality states and warns about in Uruguay, focusing particularly on the legal solutions adopted by the country, who have the ability to allow interaction between the cooperative law and legislation and consumer protection.
