Crisis and intercooperation. The Uruguayan experience
Abstract
The present contribution, which main thematic is to expose the way, form and opportunity in which intercooperation operated as an instrumental way, eventually or potentially, to back up —and overcome if it was needed— the impact of the worldwide economic crisis in the geopolitical space in Uruguay. This work considers effects and consequences of this crisis in the mentioned country, despite the relatively of that impact in the reality of cooperatives, the almost inexistence or verifiable cases of intercooperation, in order they were not necessary, the positive legal previsions that are part of the new cooperative normative, in relation with the intercooperative promotion and integration, some interesting experiences of cooperative development in the critical period between 2008 and 2009. This contribution closes with some conclusions that consider the intercooperative’s aptitude and the integration’s ways —and at the end— for the progress of cooperatives in economic and social issues.

Consequently, they grant the Publisher the exclusive, royalty-free and worldwide right of first publication, editing, layout and exploitation of the article. This grant authorises the Publisher to distribute, sub-license and index the work in any format, medium, database or institutional repository, for the purposes of promotion and scientific dissemination.
3. Copyright
The authors retain the intellectual property rights to their article and retain the right to distribute and use their work for teaching purposes, future research or personal archiving, provided that the original publication in the Journal is cited. They are also permitted to republish in other media, provided that a (foot)note is included with the full reference to BAIDC (including the DOI, where available) and no explicit endorsement of the Journal and/or Publisher is implied.
4. Open access
BAIDC is an open-access journal; this means that it is freely and fully accessible in its entirety immediately upon publication of its content.
